About the speaker Originally from Portugal, João Rodrigues completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at the University of Coimbra. In 2014, he obtained his Ph.D. from Utrecht University, with a thesis on computational structural biology under the supervision of Alexandre Bonvin. Afterward, he joined the groups of Michael Levitt and Ron Dror at Stanford University. His research focuses on developing and employing computational methods to study the structure and dynamics of protein interactions, particularly those involving G-protein coupled receptors. As of 2017, João is an author in 22 peer-reviews publications, with more than 600 citations, and a Hirsch h-index of 12. He is an awardee of the Google Summer of Code Fellowship, the Niels-Stensen Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the Stanford School of Medicine Dean Postdoctoral Fellowship. |
