With the leadership of Dokuz Eylül University rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet FÜZÜN, University representatives hosted the president of Nevvar-Salih İşgören Foundation Ömer ŞENER and the commitee members of the foundation at İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Institute.

iBG-izmir Director Prof.Dr. Mehmet ÖZTÜRK informed the commitee members on modern treatment research and applications. In brief, Prof. Öztürk stated that “the most important service here is to develop modern methods for treatments of disorders. In this case stem cell and gene treatments will be improved. Regenerative medicine technology is very important for children with hereditary disorders and this is the reason why a center of stem cell and gene treatment has started to be established in iBG-izmir”. Commitee members were pleased to hear that these critically important health technologies are developed in İzmir. Lastly, collaboration possibilities between iBG-izmir and Nevvar-Salih İşgören Foundation were discussed.
